Murphy’s Law states that “anything that can go wrong will go wrong”. The origins of the statement and what it means vary. Stories speak of Edward Murphy, an Air Force engineer. He who worked with gauges on a government project testing the impacts of deceleration from high speeds. His gauges would malfunction and the irritated engineer introduced the adage to the world.
The kitchen cabinet industry is a hotbed for things to go wrong. Kitchen cabinet production requires so many detailed steps for an order to arrive correctly at a job site. We receive almost weekly calls from consumers asking for help with an order gone bad. Murphy’s Law suggests that the steps necessary to accomplish any task require attention. This detail oriented approach is what separates the better cabinet suppliers from the ones that are just peddling cabinets.
The process of producing an order of cabinets correctly involves:
- measuring the space flawlessly
- designing the kitchen both to the liking of the customer and without errors
- placing a mistake-free order with the factory
- the factory then must produce the cabinetry without damages or inaccuracies
- delivery of the cabinets must arrive to the kitchen dealer without any damages
- the kitchen dealer must handle the cabinets carefully into their storage facility
- when the client is ready the cabinets must be loaded on to the kitchen dealer’s truck without harm to any of the boxes
- the truck team must deliver the cabinets into the home without any hiccups
- unboxing the cabinets by the contractor’s team must yield no unintended damage
- the installation of the cabinetry by the contractor must avoid any accidental nicks or scratches
As this list describes, the pitfalls are many where something can be wrong. Murphy’s Law weighs heavy on every step. A good kitchen dealer watches each step with care to ensure the customer ends up the product they deserve.
