When Wayne Panza from Topaz Builders Inc. had the opportunity to a build a new home in The Hamptons, he felt the urge to do something different. Panza collaborated with Jimmy Gavalas from Atlantis Kitchens to execute the design vision for the kitchen cabinets, aspiring to achieve a fresh-feeling kitchen with minimal clutter.

Most kitchen cabinet doors are comprised of five pieces of wood, MDF, or a combination of both. The framing of the door is four pieces. The center panel is another piece and even that is sometimes made up of multiple pieces. All these parts expand and contract based on the moisture that is absorbed or released. When painted, the stress cracks are inevitable where the door components are adjoined as paint is a rigid finish with no movement.
